About CostCoverBase
Last updated: July 2026
CostCoverBase is a set of browser calculators for US households comparing health premiums, deductibles, coinsurance, dental and pet costs, COBRA, and related benefit math. The point is to run scenarios with numbers from your SBC or paycheck — not to sell a policy.
Everything runs in your browser. No account, no saved medical or financial inputs, no email gate. Close the tab and the numbers are gone.
Who it's for
People in open enrollment, between jobs on COBRA, or staring at a dental or vet quote who want plain arithmetic before they decide. If you need a licensed quote or clinical advice, this is the wrong tool — and we say so on every page.
Where the numbers come from
You supply premiums, deductibles, coverage percentages, and sample bills. We apply documented formulas (share after employer contribution, deductible then coinsurance, break-even premiums vs claims). We do not pull ACA subsidies by ZIP or call insurer APIs.
Assumptions and known limits are listed on our data sources & methodology page. Short guides explain concepts like deductible vs out-of-pocket max — not a substitute for your plan documents.
What this is not
Not insurance advice, not medical advice, not a quote engine, and not Healthcare.gov. Results are planning estimates. Confirm enrollment and claims with your insurer, HR, or a licensed agent.
Contact & corrections
Found a wrong formula or calculator bug? Email contact@costcoverbase.com. Include the page URL and the inputs you used. Incorrect cost-sharing math is treated as urgent once we can reproduce it.
